The use of vacuum therapies in bodywork is the addition of controlled suction to perform lymphatic drainage on the face and body. Because the suction is controlled based on the area of the body being treated, the pressure does not create bruising or capillary damage. One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the “separation” that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue and the elimination of old waste and congestion. We are water-based beings. However, we must wait 6-8 weeks post surgery for suction therapy and a release from your physician is necessary for post-treatment.
